Balcony makeover

This old balcony had seen it's time. Redwood is a beautiful decking material, but without periodic refinishing, it will eventually become ugly, rotten, and termite-ridden.
Replacing the decking with Trex Brasilia gave the balcony a great new look. Plus, Trex never needs to be sanded or painted and has a 25-year warranty against rotting, splitting, cracking, and basically everything else wrong with wood.
The decking was installed with hidden fasteners that anchor the boards down from the side rather than from above.

Trex treehouse

Recently, ProDeck Construction was hired for a unique project, a custom treehouse. Using deck-building techniques and even Trex composite decking and railing, we created this free-standing structure to go up and in the tree without ever attaching to the tree itself or cutting any of the major branches.

The tree prior to trimming.

The finished product.
We let the branches come right through the decking.
A custom ladder. The rungs are made with galvanized steel pipe.

Much of the layout and design was decided upon in progress. This was a different but fun project to work on.
Hopefully the kids find it fun as well!
